You must show a valid annual pass card for each individual in your party wanting to take up free entry to Arley. This needs to be your physical card so that it can be scanned at the entrance. Any individual without their own, named, valid, card will be asked to pay for entry, and no refunds can be offered under any circumstances.
Every member has been issued a card in their name and each card admits only the named person.
The card needs to be scanned upon entry and whenever you wish to receive your annual pass discounts (café, gift shop, nursery).
We need a photograph of the named card holder on our system, so that when you scan in, we can check it is you.
There are 2 ways of us getting the image: You can either pop into the Estate Office anytime between 9am and 4pm Monday – Friday and we can take the pic for you. Just next time you visit Arley will be fine. Or you can email us a picture of the cardholder.
The photo needs to be clear and in focus. The person needs to be facing the front with no other people in the image, (think passport photo and you won’t go far wrong). You can then email this image to us at enquiries@arleyhallandgardens.com and we will upload it. The image will not show on the card, it just shows on our system.
The annual pass card shows the name of the Annual Pass member and your membership number. The QR code contains this information along with the photographic image of the member. There is no personal information held within the barcode so if you lose your membership card you don't need to worry that any personal details such as your address or bank details have been compromised.
When you visit Arley, your card is scanned to capture the membership number, membership status and type along with the date and time of your visit.
This data helps us to understand our members more and plan our future events and opening to appeal to our visitors and attract new members.
Scanning the cards also helps us to track and prevent fraudulent use of the Annual Passes. As a privately owned and funded attraction we rely heavily on membership subscriptions and admission fees to provide vital income to fund our conservation and restoration work.
If you lose your card you need to report this to us so that we can cancel the access. We will then issue you with a new card. Please note that there is a £3 charge plus postage to replace any lost cards.
No. All our members will now have scannable cards and in order to gain entry to Arley you need to show your membership card and scan the card to count your entry.
The membership name, type and date of renewal has not changed, we’ve simply issued you with a new card.
If your membership was due to expire in February, it still will. If your membership was due to expire in June, it still will. We’ve just updated the card – the date of membership and when it expires has not changed.
When your membership is due to expire just visit our website here and click on the renew option. You can pay for your membership by credit or debit card or by setting up an annual Direct Debit payment. If you set up an annual Direct Debit online, you get a 10% discount off the membership cost. Direct Debit also helps us as it reduces our administration costs allowing us to re-invest money back into our restoration and conservation work, helping keep Arley alive for future generations. Your membership will automatically renew after a year if you pay by annual Direct Debit.
Under the Equality Act 2010, any visits by a carer, in the company of the person they care for, are free – regardless of anything to do with our annual pass scheme.
At Arley we take equality seriously and provide free access for assisting companions of a disabled member or visitor. We recognise these companions are key to making access possible, as well as creating an enriched and memorable experience. We don't ask for any proof of disability, and the companion doesn't have to be a registered carer, nor do they have to be the same person each time you visit.
Please notify us that you need a carer card to go alongside your annual pass and we will issue a carer card, free of charge. These carer cards have no independent validity – they are valid only when used by someone in the presence of the named paying member. We will issue 1 carer card for every adult membership. Just call us on 01565 777 353 or email enquiries@arleyhallandgardens.com with your membership number and name and we will do the rest.
No, children will not receive their own passes. We will ask for the children’s names when you renew and scanning either of the 2 Adult passes will admit the children.
A Family pass admits up to 3 named children – these are defined as children you have parental responsibility for or who are living with you, including children you are fostering or who are placed with you for adoption. Grandchildren can also be included on family memberships.
Unlimited days to visit the historic hall and gardens, the gardener's kitchen café, chapel, grove & woodland walk, playzone and picnic area throughout the year.
The annual pass demonstrates excellent value for money. High season entry to the Gardens in 2025 is £12 for adults (+ car parking) therefore you will have benefited from your membership after only 3 visits!
